About me

I’m Nic Pendregaust

A qualified therapist and coach based in Sevenoaks, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also an accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

I blend therapeutic insight with practical coaching to help you make sense of where you are, untangle what may be keeping you stuck and start moving forward in a way that feels right for you.

My story

I began a long and varied career in HR straight after university, working across training, learning & development, graduate recruitment and talent management.

Over 23 years, I worked for organisations including Barclays, Vodafone and Deloitte, supporting talented, ambitious professionals navigating pressure, performance and change.

In 2013, I began retraining as a counsellor alongside my corporate career. I’d realised I wanted to help people at a deeper level than my HR roles enabled - supporting them not just with career or performance issues, but with the stress, self-doubt and personal challenges that are often overlooked. At the time, I didn’t realise I was perimenopausal nor that I was potentially heading for burnout myself.

By 2016, though, the signs were undeniable and I made the decision to leave corporate life. I stepped away that summer - and promptly got a puppy to mark a new chapter in my life! I qualified as a counsellor in 2017, bringing together my corporate experience and new therapeutic skills.

"Thank you very much Nic, you made the sessions a safe and happy space. I always felt comfortable and that I was in good hands.

Nic always demonstrated empathy, compassion and calmness but also a curiosity and open-mindedness that helped me see and approach new situations differently going forward."

My work today

More recently, I’ve added therapeutic coaching to my practice, drawing on my background in HR.

I still support organisations with graduate recruitment, which helps me stay in touch with the realities of today’s workplace. Having worked with professionals managing high-pressure roles, competing priorities and organisational change, I understand the challenges many of my clients face and blend this insight with coaching techniques to help people feel less stuck and make considered, achievable changes to their lives.

Supporting mid-life professionals

In my ten years as a therapist and counsellor, I’ve worked with children, teenagers and adults across charities, organisations and private practice.

Today, my work centres on mid-life professionals, especially women navigating menopause. I understand how this stage can affect confidence, identity, emotional wellbeing, relationships and career direction. I offer tailored support to help women make sense of the emotional and practical changes this transition can bring, drawing on established training in this area as we explore what might come next for you, in both your personal and professional life.

"Connection is so important, and I found this with Nic straight away. She provides you the space and time to walk through whatever it is in a gentle relaxed manner free from judgement.

Nic held the torch, whilst I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I truly gained ‘clarity’ in every aspect of my life to ‘live life well’ feeling empowered and stronger."

A personal understanding

Living with chronic illness in recent years has given me a real sense of how exhausting and overwhelming juggling health, work, family and daily life can be.

It’s made me more patient, empathetic and tuned into the ups and downs of everyday life. I bring that understanding into my work so you’ll always have a safe space to explore what’s going on and feel truly heard.

How I work

My approach is warm, relaxed and respectful - a space where you can breathe, be honest and reflect on your experiences without judgement.

Together, we look at behaviours, thoughts and feelings to help you take steps towards the life you want.

I’m here to support you in reconnecting with yourself, restoring balance and moving forward with clarity and a sense of what it really means to live life well.
