Helping You

Counselling can help improve self, relationships and family dynamics. For some, it is about taking some out to reflect on their own personal journey and growth.  Having therapy can help provide true insight, support and new approaches to different life challenges.  I can help you take an honest look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, learn more about yourself and take control and responsibility for bringing about lasting positive change.

Testimonials

I came to Nic when I was suffering quite badly with high anxiety levels. I'd suffered with menopausal anxiety and after being treated for breast cancer my anxiety levels were heightened after the treatment and with taking post cancer medication. Nic used the Embers model to help me understand what my body was going through during menopause and post cancer. I found by talking through the symptoms with Nic and looking at changes I could make to my diet, lifestyle, approach to work and home life, I was able to focus on the changes I needed to make to help me cope with the symptoms. I have gradually tweaked different aspects of my life and this has really helped to bring my anxiety levels down. I am now starting to feel much more relaxed, have taken my foot off the gas pedal and am able to enjoy life again. Thanks Nic for helping me to get back on track.

I sought Nic’s counselling service because I felt I had reached a point in my life where I needed to reset my life and my goals. I had been struggling with peri-menopause symptoms for some years and these were impacting on my life and work to an extent that that I could no longer see my way ahead. Nic’s expertise as a counsellor enabled me to listen to my inner-voice and guided me towards reconnecting with my true self. Nic showed great understanding and empathy throughout our sessions, and this allowed us to discuss thought-provoking questions that opened my mind to my broader situation and introduced new possibilities. I cannot recommend Nic highly enough - I have been able to reach a much happier and contented place as a result of our sessions and feel that this has helped to heal my physical symptoms by reducing my levels of stress as well as gaining new perspectives that are taking me forward into a much more confident future. Thank you, Nic.

"I decided to seek counselling as I had been unhappy for a few years and I couldn’t see any way out. Nic helped me question and understand myself in a calming non-judgemental way so I could find the answers I needed and realise there were indeed options. She gave me the confidence to overcome my anxiety and make major changes in my personal and work life. We also explored the background of my regular night terrors and put in place methods to deal with these which have since completely stopped. I just wish I had done this years ago, as after making all these changes my life has now taken a new much happier direction, that I never thought would be possible"

"Thank you very much Nic, you made the sessions a safe and happy space. I always felt comfortable and that I was in good hands. Nic always demonstrated empathy, compassion and calmness but also a curiosity and open-mindedness that helped me see and approach new situations differently going forward."

"I was very apprehensive to start with and had no idea what to expect however, the trusting relationship and safe and relaxing environment with Nic meant I was able to talk through my difficulties and gain a clearer understanding without any judgement. Thank you again!"

"I attended counselling with Nic for several months to help me work through my grief after bereavement. Our sessions together helped me make sense of what I was going through and acted as a safety valve for me through difficult times. Our work together enabled me to begin accepting my loss and understand how I could live a positive life despite my grief."

Through Nic’s ability as a counsellor I have achieved the balance I need to move forward . Nic saved me from myself. I was at a point In my life where I was grappling for support and an understanding of my emotions, a reality check- of all the people I looked for help from, Nic was there. I am now in a stable emotional place. I am where I wanted to be emotionally and I I am moving on with personal clarity. Thanks Nic. I miss our sessions, but I am now empowered to deal with things, often revisiting ideas and discussions and listening before acting. At some stages in life, in life we need support - Nic was there when I really needed it.
